She has extensive experience raising capital with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. During her tenure at Kansas City Power & Light, she acted as counsel for the issuance of over $3.5 billion of debt and equity. She oversaw the formation of Great Plains Energy, a Midwest energy holding company, and the acquisitions of Strategic Energy, LLC, and other energy-related subsidiaries. While at Midwest Research, she was counsel for the issuance of tax-exempt bonds for the expansion of research facilities, and led the acquisition of a 50% ownership interest in a Canadian products and services company. She served on the Board of Dycor Technologies Ltd., a privately held company that provides chemical, biological and radiological technologies. Jeanie has a B.S. degree in Business Administration and a J.D. degree from the University of Missouri. She is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Kansas City Bar Association, American Society of Governance Professionals, and the National Association of Corporate Directors. She is active in the Kansas City community having served on the boards of the Kansas City Chapter of the American Red Cross, Kansas City Tomorrow Alumni Association, Central Exchange, Powell Gardens, and Kansas City Full Employment Council. She is also active in the Truman Library "Buck Stops Here Society" and the Women's Capital Connection. Jeanie is married to Robert Latz, an attorney in private practice, and the mother of two adult sons. Jeanie is an avid gardener and cook. She enjoys entertaining friends and family, traveling and reading in her spare time.
