Steve Champlin is a Senior Consultant to MidCap Advisors' Gaming and Entertainment Specialty Practice Group.

Steve is a casino owner who advises MidCap's investment bankers on transactions involving restricted and non-restricted gaming properties as well manufacturing and service companies that supply or serve the gaming industry.

Prior to becoming a casino owner and gaming consultant, Steve led the management buyout of a mid-sized metal fabrication company in northern Indiana.  Steve and two other employees raised the capital and secured debt financing needed to purchase the business from the retiring owner. Over the next three years, Steve designed and introduced new proprietary products that more than doubled the company's revenues. In 2005, Steve and the other shareholders sold the company to a strategic buyer at the peak of the market.

After successfully selling his company, Steve and his family moved to Las Vegas where he invested in two startups and formed Champlin Gaming, LLC which acquired its first gaming property in early 2009.

Steve has been involved in many restricted gaming transactions and has advised casino owners and slot route operators on the sale of their businesses.

Steve received his MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters Degree in Systems Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Arizona.

Steve, his wife, and their two boys live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
