John Parnell, Managing Director - Boston Office

John Parnell is a Managing Director with MidCap Advisors. John is in charge of MidCap's Boston office. He provides merger and acquisition, corporate finance, and strategic consulting services to clients throughout New England and the United States.

John is the also head of MidCap's Education Sector Specialty Practice Group. For over 10 years, John has worked with companies in all areas of the for-profit educational space including advising clients in the corporate and professional education and training, for-profit K-12, career school, publishing, educational technology, language, and post-secondary education sectors. Former clients have included Rets Tech Center, Javelin Learning Systems, Inc., Madison Media and Antonelli Institute among others.

John Parnell and MidCap Advisors provide skilled transaction advisory services to privately held businesses and private equity groups in sell-side and buy-side mergers and acquisitions and capital raises. MidCap's Principals and Managing Directors have been involved in transactions ranging in value from several million to more than two billion dollars, but MidCap's emphasis is on mid market transactions of $5 million to $200 million in enterprise value.

John's clients include private companies seeking liquidity events as well as many of the major education related companies and private equity firms looking for acquisitions. Clients rely on John's in-depth knowledge of the educational sector to sell their companies for maximum value or to locate, analyze and negotiate successful acquisitions.

Prior to joining MidCap Advisors, John worked for a small boutique M&A firm that specialized in the educational sector. Before becoming a merger and acquisition advisor John held a senior executive position in successful multi-generation family owned business. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Boston State College. John, his wife and their three children live in the greater Boston area. John is an avid New England Sports fan.
